I finally managed to make it to this exhibition - it's closing soon. It was great - it made me appreciate Landseer more in the context of the political messages he was trying to convey through allegory. And of course I loved Hockney's two little sausages! The sketches by Queen Victoria were sweet too and it was good to see more than one female artist represented. Gainsborough's eyes were really inspiring, as well as Landseer's use of light - there was much to learn and I'm looking forward to putting it into practice.
