New painting! Part of my new collection currently on show at Leighton Buzzard Library šĀ
Deep blue summer skies are the backdrop to this tree, bathed in sunshine and forgotten in a cow field. It is rugged and weathered, twisted and lopped, shaped by time and troubles. Yet it continues to put out new shoots, going its own way.
Strong tone contrast describes the intense sunlight and shadows in this painting. The eye is led around and along the branches to see how the tree has shaped itself idiosyncratically over the years.
āResilienceā, oil on canvas, 50x100cm, 2025.
