A trip to the David Hockney: Drawing from Life exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery last week - he’s so inspiring in the way he keeps learning and trying new methods and technologies throughout his long career. It reminds me that the journey of learning and growing in art is what matters, not the end point. Particularly moving for me were his portraits of his mum (I had a mum from Bradford too).
We also popped in to the National Gallery (well it would be rude not to, wouldn’t it!) and then had a look at the Royal Drawing School show at Christie’s… plenty of exciting new work there. All in all a grand day out!
