I forgot to post about this - it sold at the Leighton Buzzard Art Society group exhibition recently. I love shubunkins with their little pot bellies! It was very calming to paint, just like real fish are calming to watch. The black background is reminiscent of Asian lacquer work and also makes them seem free in a pond rather than confined in a tank. Freedom for goldfish!
